Congratulations everyone, we beat another record (this is not a good thing). July 2019 is officially the hottest month ever recorded. According to the Copernicus Climate Change Service and scientists globally, July 2019 is the warmest month the world has experienced since record-keeping began more than a century ago.
Wildfires are burning across millions of acres in the Arctic. Glaciers in Greenland are melting at a record pace (197 billion tons of water in July), and Europe has seen record heat waves sending millions of people into risk of heat related illness.
The data is still being checked by NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and other agencies but expect the results to come to a similar conclusion, the Earth continues to heat up.
